Activities & Attractions
The Central
Oregon Coast
abounds with scenic and recreational attractions.
A favorite activity at The Inn at Otter Crest is to descend the
cliff, via a long flight of stairs, to discover the beach below.
It’s a great place for beachcombing, hunting for shells,
crabs and clams (ah…the “treasures” often hidden in the sand).
Above the sandy beach is an undisturbed evergreen forest with
many hiking trails.
A lovely footpath from The Inn leads to the Devil’s Punch Bowl State
Park, a popular whale-watching site and picnic area atop the rocky
shoreline. At the Cape
Foulweather Observation Point, white sea lions, murres, cormorants,
and other sea birds can be seen resting on the offshore rocks.
Nearby towns -
Depoe
Bay, Lincoln
City, and Newport - offer quaint restaurants, art
galleries, antique and craft shops, winery tours, and deep-sea
fishing charters.
The
Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Hatfield Marine
Science Center
in Newport
showcase the beauty and diversity of sea life.
Oregon’s
picturesque coastline beckons you to indulge your love of nature!
