Hawaii sunsets! They’re among the most spectacular in the world! While vacationing with Royal Aloha Vacation Club, spend some evenings relaxing with some nice Hawaiian music while a beautiful hula dancer sways gracefully to Hawaiian tunes. Enjoy a Mai Tai. As the sun moves toward the horizon, watch the sky change to the most amazing colors. Go ahead, R e l a x !!! You’re on vacation in Hawaii. You are in Paradise!
If you’re lucky enough to see a Green Flash, you’ll be talking about it for a long time!
Then the moment of truth…will there be a “Green Flash”?
What, you have never heard about the Green Flash? You are not alone. Most of our guests at our Royal Aloha Vacation Club resorts in the Islands have never heard of it, and most of them leave without seeing it. During my last seven years on Oahu, I’ve seen THREE green flashes, and each of them was a big WOW!!!! I glimpsed the green flash when the last portion of the sun dipped under the horizon. The horizon must be very clear, even the smallest cloud or haze will interfere. Hawaii is actually one of the rare places where the green flash is quite common. However, one still has to be extremely lucky to see this splash of intense emerald light, lasting about one-tenth (or hundredth?) of a second, appearing on the horizon in the blink of an eye at the final moment of sunset.
This photo was taken from my iPhone on Waikiki BeachApril 19, 2012, just seconds before the Green Flash occurred!
