For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

HAWAII’S “ABUZZ” AS IT PREPARES FOR APEC

For Royal Aloha Vacation Club members visiting your Waikiki timeshare the week of November 7, this is a reminder that the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference will be in town.
With the arrival of President Obama, 20 other world leaders and thousands of delegates who will be bringing along their family and staff, you can expect getting around in Waikiki to be very time-consuming. With road closures and snarled traffic, it will probably be easier and faster to walk.
There will also be paramount security. Barriers will be set up at all major meeting locations, including the Hawaii Convention Center and the Hale Koa Hotel (the entire Fort DeRussy area may be locked down). The summit finale will be at the Ihilani Resort at Ko Olina on November 13. We suggest you not plan a Sunday outing in that direction unless you don’t mind massive traffic jams.
While Hawaii welcomes being in the spotlight for this global event, it’s going to cause inconvenience for visitors and locals alike. Yet it will be an exciting time to be visiting Waikiki – soak up the “Aloha Spirit” and enjoy your week in the sun!

2012 Annual Dues Remain at 2009 Level!

We are delighted to report that your board of directors has just approved the FY 2012 operating budget with no increase in your annual dues for another year. The 2012 dues will remain at the 2009 level of $611 for a one-bedroom week and $746 for a two-bedroom week. These amounts compare very favorably with the industry average, especially for resorts located in Hawaii.
In spite of the generally depressed economic conditions, some of the Club’s operating expenses increased significantly (employee health care cost, electricity, water and sewer charges, condo maintenance fees, unemployment insurance taxes, etc). However, your board and management believes it is paramount to keep the annual dues affordable in these unsettled economic times so our members can continue to enjoy wonderful vacation with their loved ones.
