to live and visit.
Chandler is now the new home of
"Rawhide" with its Wild West shootouts, shotgun weddings, wagon
rides, gold panning, and burro rides.
The Ostrich Festival is a popular
family event held in March, and the Cinco de Mayo Festival showcases
the famous Chihuahua races in May.
Just 30 minutes north, you'll find an
abundance of museums in Phoenix - art, science, history, vintage
aircraft, and Native American artifacts. There's also a
botanical garden with one of the world's best collections of desert
beauty.
Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West, a National Historical
Landmark, is just a few miles northeast
of Scottsdale. The 600-acre complex is surrounded by the Sonoran Desert.
Don't miss Sedona and the Oak Creek
Canyon for spectacular scenery with ancient massive rock formations
rising from the desert floor. Tucked into the red rocks in an
amphitheater where musicians perform under the stars.
Meandering alongside Sedona is Oak
Creek, a great area for swimming, biking, jogging, and horseback
riding on canyon trails. The scenic, winding road through Oak
Creek Canyon leads to the Grand Canyon, one of the world's great
wonders. |
